“Well, that was short-lived!” wrote Don Brash in a distraught email regarding the publisher's decision to cancel an advertisement it was set to run.

It follows nearly a week of mounting pressure after the news publisher ran an ad from the right-wing lobby group of the front-page last Wednesday.

It follows a front-page advert last week from Hobson's Pledge, calling for the restoration of the foreshore and seabed to public ownership.

“Those flinging accusations of misinformation need to front up with evidence to demonstrate what is incorrect,” Hobson’s Pledge leader Don Brash wrote in a statement.
