Watch live: Daily Te Ao Māori News bulletin airs for the final time

Breaking

The final daily news bulletin from Whakaata Māori news division Te Ao Māori News will air on Facebook and the teaonews.co.nz website at 4:30pm.

It marks an end to 20 years of daily television news produced in te reo Māori by Aotearoa’s national Indigenous broadcaster.

Te Ao Māori News will continue as a digital-only news outlet, via this website as well as @teaomaorinews on social media.

It follows sweeping cuts at Whakaata Māori which has axed a total of 27 roles in its race to meet a funding shortfall in the new financial year.

Watch the bulletin live at the top of this article, or catch up on it on Facebook, on Te Reo at 5:30pm, on Whakaata Māori at 6:30pm, or on MĀORI+ later this evening.
