Kaipara District Council is set to hold an extraordinary meeting today to decide the fate of its Māori ward.
Te Moananui o Kaipara Māori ward, currently held by councillor Pera Paniora, could be the first Māori ward to be scrapped following changes to the Local Government Act in late July.
The move has sparked calls for Jepson’s resignation, calls he has refused.
