Police have released the name of the man whose body was found on Mount Maunganui beach this morning. He was Benjamin Christopher Dahlkamp, a 45-year-old from Tauranga.
Police are continuing to provide support to Mr Dahlkamp's family.
A member of the public alerted Police to the male, in his mid-40s, in the surf between Leisure Island and the main Mount beach just before 8am today.
No further details have been released.
