It is more than likely that the Labour Party's Meka Whaitiri will take out the Ikaroa Rawhiti electorate as live poll results have shown that she has maintained an easy lead right from the first count of votes for this election year.
In contrast, trailing by more than 4000 votes is Te Hamua Nikora of the Mana Party. This is Nikora's second time standing for the Ikaroa Rawhiti seat following the by-election in 2013.
Marama Fox of the Māori Party is currently sitting at third place whilst The Green Party's Henare Kani sits at fourth place.
Our reporter Aroha Treacher spoke with Meka Whaitiri tonight.
