National support Labour's Davis and release new social development policy

Today it was revealed that National has a new social development policy which has gained support form Labour’s leader and iwi leaders across the country who say it will empower iwi.

This is only an idea from National at this stage and hasn't yet been cemented, but it does seem that it has huge support from iwi.

The public have previously seen this type of connection between Govt and iwi before over social development issues.  For example, iwi of the top of the South Island working closely together with the Govt.

People have long been saying the current or latest policies aren't relevant to future generations and iwi but perhaps giving the ability to iwi could be successful.

Also, it is said John Key is urging voters to support Kelvin Davis for Te Tai Tokerau electorate seat.

The Opposition, in particular Metiria Turei from the Greens, are claiming that this is a demonstration of dirty politics.  In John Key's opinion though, this isn't a new strategy.

We've seen this before from National in other electorate regions.  If the vote results do give Kelvin Davis the seat, National's view is there is only one seat and that will go to the Opposition.

However, if Hone Harawira retains the seat, there will be three or four others that will go through with him, namely Annette Sykes, Laila Harre and John Minto based on the Internet-MANA party list.
