Māori author Patricia Grace is in a battle with the Govt over the taking of her land.
The Govt has their sights set on Patricia’s land to build the new Kāpiti Expressway but her whānau say the NZ Transport Agency's (NZTA) consultation process was flawed.
Today, the Grace whānau were before the Māori Land Court at their marae, Whakarongotai, to seek special protection of their land.
The family say NZTA's actions have been undermining.
It could be weeks before a decision is made on Patricia Grace's land.
If things don't go her way, there's no doubt she and her whānau will suffer a huge loss.
